I can`t quite believe it myself, but the whole MyBook - modding scheme took me only one day to finish.... So of course I am rather proud of how it turned out.... but I`m also rather sad because now I have to find something new to do with my spare time :-(

Today, I started my newest project... after saving our file server and re-filling it from our Western Digital "My Book" backup disk(s), I dropped the habit of handling the thing like a precious Fabergé - Egg and thought to myself: "That thing would look great in an old leather binding!" I like your leather wrapped Mybook mod.
I have made some extensive wood based mods (including the only wooden iPod)

I suggest on your shuttle PC to use a veneer next time, they are still real wood, but work well for skinning a PC. It is also much cheaper to get a nice veneer then nice hardwood.

See my wooden shuttle here:

Other wood mods are listed in other areas of my flickr page.
that case looks really nifty! I like the etching you did on the front - looks perfect, but then again, thats what I`ve come to expect using laser cutters :-)

I was thinking about using veneer at first, too... but I don`t have any experience using veneer and the veneers available at the local mall were boring to say the least.
hm... nothing outstanding
